What are you planning for Saturday 24?
Come join the party at the State Library of WA as children’s writers and illustrators from across WA combine their powers to launch five new books into the imaginations of kids everywhere…
As Louisa Wales (thanks Lou for the great story!) describes in the above, my own new book is one of the five being celebrated next week (YAY! YAY! YAY!).
It’s called To The Lighthouse and it’s a story based on my kids’ real friendships and our own family experiences on Rotto…
To The Lighthouse is about the excitement that comes with horizons opening up as independence grows. It’s a story about two kids striking out on an adventure on Rottnest, and discovering that it’s ok to fail, to take risks and stuff up – the world won’t end.
I wonder if you can read the book and work out which bits come from actual experience… You might be surprised 😉
